Since 1950, the number of the pilgrims of Annaya increased prodigiously. Saint Maron’s Monastery Annaya (Tomb of Saint Charbel) became an international center of pilgrimage.
The visitors of Annaya easily realize of the great number of the pilgrims, the congestion and the difficulty in finding a place to park the car, at the time of the great ceremonies, the festival of Saint Charbel, the 22 of each month, the sundays and the festivals.
The various monks in charge for the convent tried to fit the identity of the convent to its vocation as sanctuary and as a great center of pilgrimage. The convent was restored. Several restorations were introduced in the hermitage and its entourage.
The Church Saint Charbel was built. The places in the neighbourhoods of the convent were arranged. The way of the Saints was created. The park of Annaya was also arranged. All these projects were carried out in honor of Saint Charbel and for the good of the pilgrim who venerates him and who beseeches his intercession. In this section of our Internet site, we announce our recently achieved project to you or which we want to realize, for the veneration of Saint Charbel and the good of the pilgrim.
